Business Relationships 101 - A beginning

What is "Building Relationships" all about? Just what does that mean?

Building business relationships is crucial to maintaining and growing your business as you can not grow if people do not know you AND trust you.

Your intentions are what makes or breaks you. When building a business, any business, you should have some kind of goal of helping others in mind. Your goal you can be your conversation builder.

"What is it you do?" "Do I need that service?" "What can my service do for you?" "Oh,I do something similar in my business...."

These are great questions to start but are they enough? Absolutely  not!  Who IS this person you're helping? What are their likes, dislikes, dreams, goals, fears and immediate needs? What do you have in common?

Keep in mind I am not trying to be a dating service. This is the reality of business. People buy and do business with people they know. If they don't know you and you don't take any interest in them, tell me, what separates you from the thousands of other business's out there?

This can be as small as "So what brings you in today?" Or "How did you hear about this?"

Then the relationship building starts. "Really? How many kids do you have? Or "How did you get interested in that?" Or, "Oh, I bike too! Do you know any good trails, runs, rides...."

Or it can be as big as: "We are having a BBQ and we are inviting some of our new prospects, customers, friends... Can you come buy?"

As the weeks go by I will be writing more about why this is so crucial and how it will make your business grow more easily as time goes by. The more people you touch, the more people tell others about you. I will also talk about sending thank you cards, "touching base" cards, and other ways to touch people quickly and easily with a powerful punch!

Until then.. Work on building your business by asking one person a little more than you did before and see what happens!
